Foreign body management
The safety and purity of your raw materials is our priority. The Food Safety Tower® is a multi-stage control system that guides each batch through at least six specialized detection and cleaning processes. This multi-barrier strategy reduces the risk of contamination to virtually zero and meets the highest international food safety standards (FSSC 22000, IFS). All process steps are documented, calibrated and traceable. In this way, we not only guarantee conformity, but also the planning security you need for your production.
This is where the Food Safety Tower® begins. High-precision sieves are used to achieve the target product size and separate particles that are too small or too large.
In the separation stage, heavy contaminants such as stones, glass, metal and ceramics are removed by density separation. Our state-of-the-art Destoners work according to the principle of density separation and thus form the first protective barrier against coarse foreign matter. The process is extremely effective for dried vegetables, pulses, cereals and nuts and significantly reduces the load in the subsequent stages. Through continuous quality control, we ensure that even the finest differences in density are detected.
The removal of heavy materials is followed by specialized magnetic cleaning with high-performance permanent magnets made from rare earths. These reliably remove ferromagnetic and paramagnetic particles from the product flow – whether iron oxides from processing machines, metal chips or wear particles. This stage is essential for raw materials that later flow into sensitive food production lines. We use
inline magnetic rollers as well as high-field magnetic separators, depending on the product properties and particle situation. All magnetic systems are regularly checked for function and field strength.
Light impurities such as husks, shells, dust, insects and packaging residues are removed by air classification – a proven aspiration technique that uses density and streamlining. The product flow is transported from bottom to top through a precisely regulated air field, while the lighter particles are sieved out. This is particularly important for organic and Demeter-certified
Products, where purity is visible. The removal of light particles not only improves the visual quality, but also significantly reduces germs and insect contamination.
Modern high-resolution cameras and color sensors check every single particle in real time. Discoloration, damage, mould or foreign particles are detected and ejected at lightning speed. Our sorting machines can detect color deviations as small as 0.5 mm – so fine that not even the human eye can see differences. The system works at full product speed and
guarantees consistently high quality, batch after batch. This stage is particularly indispensable for visually sensitive products such as dried mushrooms, herbs or superfood mixes.
X-ray technology detects what remains hidden to the eye and the magnetic system: compacted stones,
Bone fragments, dense plastic and other radio-opaque foreign matter. Our inline X-ray system checks
each product package at full conveying speed and reacts immediately to any deviations. This is the
Gold standard in the food industry and is particularly relevant if your customers accept zero foreign matter
in baby food, meat production or quality control for premium brands. All
Records are archived and available for traceability.
The final metal detection is another safety-critical checkpoint. Highly sensitive
Ferromagnetic, non-ferromagnetic and stainless steel particles – even the smallest fragments
Fragments. The system is calibrated to customer specifications and regularly validated with test particles. You
receive an inspection certificate for each batch. This is the ultimate safeguard against metal contamination,
before the product goes into your production process or to the customer.
The final packaging takes place in a climate-controlled, hygiene-tested area. We offer flexible
Formats: 10 kg bags, 25 kg bags, large big bags up to 1000 kg, or smaller packaging depending on the application
