Kündig launches independent brand for the pharmaceutical and healthcare market
The Kündig Group is expanding its leading expertise in the natural vapor sterilization of herbal active ingredients and medicinal products with an additional and independent business unit in the pharmaceutical and healthcare market. Kündig Pharmaceutical Solutions® (KPS) now offers services based on the proprietary Biosteril® process in accordance with the EU GMP Part 1 standard as well as other process services for customers in the phytopharmaceutical and healthcare industry. KPS was founded as a result of Kündig’s strategic core competence in the field of steam sterilization and traditional expertise in microbiologically safe medicinal herbs, herbal active ingredients and foodstuffs
Zurich – The Kündig Group announces the foundation of Kündig Pharmaceutical Solutions® (KPS). The new brand bundles the company’s many years of pharmaceutical expertise and makes it specifically accessible to manufacturers in the pharmaceutical, phytopharmaceutical and healthcare industries. At the heart of the offering is the natural vacuum saturated steam process – a technology for which a patent is currently pending – supplemented by other process services such as homogenization and grinding, which are provided in full compliance with EU GMP guidelines Part 1.
The foundation marks a strategic step by the Kündig Group to make its strengths – the proprietary BIOSTERIL® steam sterilization process, the EU GMP Guideline Part 1 certification as the basis for pharma-compliant work and the manufacturing authorization for herbal medicinal products – available under its own internationally positioned brand.

Timo Bongartz is responsible as Managing Director of KPS. Bongartz has extensive experience in the pharmaceutical raw materials industry and brings deep industry knowledge from the regulated cannabis market – a segment that exemplifies the requirements that KPS customers face: strict quality standards, complex certification requirements and the need for reliable, traceable supply chains. He is supported by a team tailored to KPS with many years of expertise in GMP.
